September – December = Sound Art
The purpose of LA POSTIZA Sound Art Program is to facilitate the production of finished works that will be presented to the public, so please propose only projects that can be completed within the allotted time frame. ESS intends to facilitate public presentation of these new works between October 1 and December 15, 2015, assuming that the finished work’s quality and format are within the scope of our presentational capacity.
LA POSTIZA Artist in Residence Program in collaboration with SONM (Experimental Music and Sound Art Phonoteque) provides time, space, and an inspiring environment for emerging and established international and local artists to explore and develop their creative endeavours.
LA POSTIZA Artist in Residence Program accepts applications from innovative artists working in the following disciplines
- Sound Art
- Music composition
- Environment Art
Possible Outcomes
- Community engagement
- Performance
- Exhibition
- Publication
Artists are responsible for their own living expenses including food, transport, insurance, tools and art materials.
Selection
Selection is based on artistic excellence and the capacity to contribute to a wider cultural discourse.
There are no specified outcomes for the residency, however, artists are encouraged to present their work or do a talk, workshop for the local community group. LA POSTIZA will help set this up for artists interested in this opportunity.
